Just finished reading the latest Thing. Slot has to be one of the more talented writers out there. The guy is like the Sienfeld of comics. Had me rolling on the floor. Hope Marvel keeps him around.

I haven't read the Thing book yet, but his She-Hulk books are fantastic! Super fun to read...
Did you read his Great Lakes Avengers mini? Is it worth picking up?

GL Avengers was good, but not as good as She-Hulk or Thing IMHO. Slot was finding a lot of creative ways to off various characters who had the most ridiculous powers. One of the Superheroes was called the Doorman who could step against a wall and create a door for others to walk thru to the next room. Oh...and it was narrated by a Chipmunk.

Sounds like it might be right up my alley... Those GL Avengers were pretty ridiculous the first time around (and it sounds like it might be the exact same cast of characters). I'll grab that and the Thing TPB when it comes out! I love a good, funny funnybook.
And speaking of funny funnybooks, you might want to check out Keith Giffen's run on Justice League International (if you're into that sort of thing). I know you said you were only now starting to pick up DCs, but man, Giffen has some GREAT material in that book. Lots of really fun in-jokes and fantastic character development as the series progresses.

Ya know, the Justice League and Ambush Bug books are the only Giffen books I've ever cared for. I forgot that he did the League!
Thanks for the reminder!

Right on! His funny books are easily his best... AND his Justice League "A New Beginning" TPB just went back into print along with "I Can't Believe It's Not The Justice League" and "Formerly Known As The Justice League"!
