I was skeptical about this Civil War storyline after the dreaded House of M, but this looks like things could be very interesting. Battle lines are being drawn. So far it looks like Mr. Fantastic and Ironman on one side and Sub-Mariner, Dr. Strange, and Blackbolt on the other. Government is going to make a law where Superheroes must reveal their identity. Ironman tried to fight the proposed law in front of a closed Senate hearing, but afterwords came to the conclusion he and all other heroes need to embrace the law and get ahead of it. This could be sooo good if they do it the right way.

If Joey Q has a hand in it...Expect the suckfest to ensue. I hope it is good. I have been reading more Marvel, than I have in my entire lifetime. I found Ultimates and Marvel Zombies to be entertaining. Even read through Young Avengers. Still, there is a lot of crap from Marvel though.

If you like the idea of superheroes being forced to register and reveal their identities, I think DC did a similar thing back in the early 90's with some giant crossover event... but the name escapes me. It involved the Suicide Squad, Checkmate, and a bunch of those guys?
I'm going to check and make sure I'm not imagining things.

Not a huge DC fan, but I have enjoyed the Infinite Crisis and All-Star Superman. Is the story you talking about on that level?

Honestly, it didn't stick with me, so probably not. I didn't bother trying to follow the whole mess and I think I only encountered it peripherally through an issue of Justice League International, so...
In fact, I'm not even sure that it had a "name" so much as it was just a sort of company-wide storyline. Wow, remember when continuity meant something?
