Well, to be honest since I never read a pulp, I can't really tell you though the cover has a huge draw to it. Didn't some of HP Lovecraft's and August Delerth's stuff end up in pulps?

Then you want to look for Weird Tales. Many H.P. Lovecraft stories and Delerth wrote almost only for Weird Tales. He has some pseudynymes: Stephen Grandon, Eldon Heath, Tally Mason & Michael West.

Here are two you might like.
First and my favorite has it all Howard, Lovecraft and Derleth + a great St John cover. This copy was $200 in a dealer's catalog. December 1936 issue.

and then this one September 1937 also has both Howard and Lovecraft (there are many Weird Tales with both, I only picked a few. I looked for a Weird Tales with both a Conan story and a Lovecraft story but couldn't find one. Fuelman, do you know of any?). This has a Brundage cover. This copy was $150 in the catalog.

How much trouble is it to store and care for these? I know, they can be somewhat fragile. Plus, isn't the grading different than that of comics?

I store mine using Golden bags and Silver Age boards. The Weird Tales books are not as delicate as most pulps, as the edges are evenly trimmed (most pulps are uneven with covers that over-hang the interior book, which causes folding/tears.)

Pulps are graded differently than comics, less strictly with Very Fine being the top grade, and almost impossible to find except with some bedsheet or production trimmed books. Even then page quality is usually yellowish to cream.
